Stripe & Polka Dot Birthday Card

Hello hello!

Today's card is made for The Embellish Color Trends Challange - Stripe & Polka Dot.
You can see the stripes in the label, as well as in the smallest yellow flower if you look closely. The background and the butterfly have polka dots.

I started by stamping the background in Iced Spruce Distress Ink. My polka dot stamp doesn't cover a whole card front, so I had to stamp it multiple times. It's always annoying to me when I don't line things up perfectly, but I'm trying to ignore it this time! ;-)

The label, the butterfly and the flowers are stamped and cut out. The biggest flower is white heat embossed with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink applied over the embossing.

I added the cut out pieces to the card with multiple layers of pop dots.

Here's a close-up so you can see all the layers.

This is the inspiration photo for The Embellish Color Trends Challange - Stripe & Polka Dot. There is still time to enter, so why don't you hop on over and participate as well!

I was so happy to see that my Pastel Birthday Card got an honorable mention today over at The Play Date Cafe: "The Cream in our Coffe"!  Yeeey! :-) This was my first time entering one of their challenges.

I think this dotted card turned out so cute! What do you think? :-)

Inky hugs,
Tone

  2. I love your card and all its layers, like how your Lemonade color came out. When I have tried mine it has too much green tint so I have not used it. Will see how it dries and give it another chance
Congrats on the other card, I loved how the colors went together
