Stripe & Polka Dot Birthday Card

Hello hello!

Today's card is made for The Embellish Color Trends Challange - Stripe & Polka Dot.
You can see the stripes in the label, as well as in the smallest yellow flower if you look closely. The background and the butterfly have polka dots.

I started by stamping the background in Iced Spruce Distress Ink. My polka dot stamp doesn't cover a whole card front, so I had to stamp it multiple times. It's always annoying to me when I don't line things up perfectly, but I'm trying to ignore it this time! ;-)

The label, the butterfly and the flowers are stamped and cut out. The biggest flower is white heat embossed with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink applied over the embossing.

I added the cut out pieces to the card with multiple layers of pop dots.

Here's a close-up so you can see all the layers.

This is the inspiration photo for The Embellish Color Trends Challange - Stripe & Polka Dot. There is still time to enter, so why don't you hop on over and participate as well!

I was so happy to see that my Pastel Birthday Card got an honorable mention today over at The Play Date Cafe: "The Cream in our Coffe"!  Yeeey! :-) This was my first time entering one of their challenges.

I think this dotted card turned out so cute! What do you think? :-)

Inky hugs,
Tone

Pastel Birthday Card

Hi there!

The inspiration for this card came from the The Play Date Cafe Challenge #149.

All the stamped images are white embossed. Love how delicate that looks! :-)

Here's a close-up:

Fall Colors CAS Card

Hello!

How are you?

The scramble this weekend over at the Hero Arts' Flickr group was to use fall colors. That's not colors I usually pick myself, so it was definitely a challenge for me!
I really enjoyed making this card, because it seemed to just happen by itself! Love when that happens! :-)

Firstly, I white embossed the Vine Background on a scrap piece of paper. Then I applied different shades of yellow and orange Distress Inks with my Ink Blending Tool.
It needed a bit more interest, so I stamped the script over it in Frayed Burlap and inked the edges with the same color. I placed the stamped panel off center on the card with pop dots.

I was debating back and forth whether to add a sentiment. I have a Thanks stamp that goes vertically. But eventually I decided that I thought the card looked beautiful just the way it was, without a sentiment! :-)

What do you think about making cards without sentiments?

Hugs,
Tone

You're Fabulous

Hi everyone,

Today's card is an updated version of a card I made last year (follow the link to see it). A colleague of mine needed a card for a friend who had just recovered from a serious illness, and she loved the colors and design of this card and the stamp I had used on my Velveteen Stamping Card. So I changed out the background stamp and added the sentiment she wanted.

A little tip
Instead of throwing away the little strip I'm left with after cutting down my stamped panel, I like to add it to the inside of the card. I think it adds a nice finishing touch!

Thank you for visiting! :-)

Hugs,
Tone

I'm entering this into A Blog Named Hero's Challenge #11: Who's The Boss, to use embossing, and Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog: Put A Stamp On It.

Blue Birthday Card

Hi there,

Today's 90 minute Hero Arts scramble was to make a card with a photo as our inspiration. On the picture was a flower in a wonderful blue color, so that's what I went with for my card.

To make the background, I first white embossed the Flower Dot Pattern stamp. Then I applied Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink with my ink blending tool. Love to see the image emerge when I apply the ink! :-)
The sentiment is also white embossed with some Salty Ocean Distress Ink over it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! :-)

Hugs,
Tone
